The International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) has selected the winners of the annual Scholar Award Program. A total of 36 graduate students, representing 14 countries, were chosen in 2016. Each winner receives the equivalent of US$2,000.
Congratulations to Ms. Carolyn Wilson, a M.Sc. student studying the effect of Diverse Compost Products on Soil Quality and Potato Productivity.
The award is available to graduate students in science programs relevant to plant nutri颅tion science and the management of crop nutrients including: agronomy, horticulture, ecology, soil fertility, soil chemistry, crop physiology, environmental science and others.
"It is an honour听to be听recognized as an IPNI Scholar," said Carolyn.听 "As the only Canadian student selected for this听International Award, I am proud to bring this听honour home to the Maritimes. We may be small, but听our students, researchers and industries are听actively engaged in听relevant, cutting-edge soil fertility research.听A special thanks to听my fellow grad students, my colleagues at AAFC,听my two excellent supervisors, the project funding agencies and听IPNI听for helping make this award possible"
