Director, Student Services, Truro Campus
Student development theory falls under educational psychology theory that posits how students gain knowledge and make their way through post secondary environments. Student development theories are generally broken down into five categories: psychosocial, cognitive structural, person-environment, humanistic and student development process models. This session will delve into the most well known theories (including Chickering鈥檚 theory of identity development and Sanford鈥檚 Challenge & Support) and discuss how these apply to your work.
