鈥婽he MacEachen Institute for Public Policy and Governance at 海角社区app University has appointed four 海角社区app academics as the Institute's first Founding Fellows:
- Jacqueline Gahagan (School of Health and Human Performance)
- Ahsan Habib (School of Planning, Department of Civil and Resource Engineering)
- Larry Hughes (Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering)
- Ren Thomas (School of Planning)
The Institute is in its early stages; the Founding Fellows will play an important role in shaping the Institute's agenda and profile, and ensuring it becomes the 'go-to' place for policy discussion and analysis regionally and nationally. The two-year appointment will start July 2018 and will end in June 2020.
The fellows' research interests align with the MacEachen Institute's four research pillars: Civic Engagement, Atlantic Canada and the World, Health Systems and Governance, and Smart Infrastructure. Their policy focuses range from transportation and urban planning, to healthcare, to climate change and emissions decoupling.
The MacEachen Institute will work with the fellows to support their research, share their research findings, host events and meet with policy makers. The fellows' research will regularly be featured on the Institute website throughout their term, as well as at Institute events, panel discussions and round tables.
