鈥婣 part-time academic is required to teach PHIL 2660.03: Understanding Scientific Reasoning in the fall term (September-December 2021). The class is scheduled for in-person instruction on Mon-Wed-Fri from 9:30-10:30 a.m. AST.

The Part-Time Academic鈥檚 duties involve full responsibility for the class including but not limited to: class lectures, office hours, development of course outlines, preparation and grading of assignments, tests and exams. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Due to the current Covid-19 outbreak and ongoing extensions to social distance protocols, 海角社区app University may elect to move this course
online. Experience with teaching in an online environment is required. All instructors hired to teach online will be supported by 海角社区app鈥檚
Centre for Learning and Teaching, and Academic Technology Services (support@dal.ca), to deliver their courses online. More information about preparing to teach online can be found at /dept/clt.html

Ph.D. or ABD (Philosophy) and teaching or research experience are required to be considered for the job. The teaching or research experiences will be assessed with respect to their quality and to how closely they relate to the subject matter of the course. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is required. Research experience shall include at least one of the following: graduate classes taken in the subject matter of the course, graduate theses written in the subject matter of the course, publications or presentations on topics falling within the subject matter of the course. Salary range is per CUPE Collective Agreement.
