Dr. Michelle Stone is an Associate Professor (Pediatric Physical Activity and Health) in the School of Health and Human Performance, Faculty of Health, 海角社区app University.鈥疭he is also an Associate Research Scholar within the Healthy Populations Institute at 海角社区app University and has a Scientific Staff appointment at the IWK Women鈥檚 and Children鈥檚 Hospital in Halifax, NS. Her research focuses on enhancing children鈥檚 opportunities for physical activity, physical literacy and active outdoor play.

This presentation will provide an overview of several research initiatives that have focused on integrating outdoor loose parts play into early years settings (childcare and after-school settings; PLEY and PLEY School projects) and knowledge sharing events (Summer of PLEY) and share more recent work around active and outdoor learning, and risky play, in diverse settings and populations.
