The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences wishes to share the sad news of the passing of Dr. John Fraser, a retired faculty member of the Department of English.

Professor Fraser was a productive and insightful scholar, an erudite and valued colleague, and a dedicated and inspiring teacher who brought much to the department and to º£½ÇÉçÇøapp. His work was instrumental in some of the most formative committees of his time, including the one establishing a PhD programme in English (1968–69) and designing the structure of the newly formed Faculty of Arts (1986).

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and to everyone who knew him.
