Peer Support Services

Connect with a peer who understands

Stay Connected (Halifax Campus)

Through the听, 海角社区app has two on-campus peer support workers on Studley Campus who provide听free, non-judgmental, confidential, and safe mental health support听to students.

Our peer support workers have received听16 hours of training听adapted from the Nova Scotia Certified Peer Support Specialist Program and other training programs from across Canada. They also have their听own personal experiences with mental health, allowing them to identify, relate to, and support students on a peer-to-peer level.听

A few examples of conversation starters that Peer Supports may use are:听

  • How did you get involved with the Stay Connected Mental Health Project?听
  • How do you practice self-care?听
  • How do you manage assignment and exam stress?听
  • How do you balance school and your social life?
  • What is your top study tip? 听
  • If you had to write a letter to yourself in first year, what advice would you give?

Peer Support Drop-in Hours

  • Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-6pm, Room 349, Student Union Building until Wednesday, April 23.
